Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, compact and fresh I got this stick because my skin is always dry from swimming. I keep it in my bag and it's easy to just run it over my dry/itchy areas for quick moisture and relief. It smells super nice and fresh, like cucumber maybe. I'd recommend this to everyone, I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1 Month in I saw this inside Walmart and decided to try it out because I have extremely dry skin and ELF products have always been good on my sensitive skin. It is hard to find products for dry skin because some may be too over powering with oil. After a week I realized the difference in my skin. It even gives your skin a tight feeling but moisturizing at the same time. I like the smell. Smells very clean and the fact that it’s vegan is 100% better I hope they don’t discontinue this product! I even bought one for my boyfriend! I keep it in my purse too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most have for dry or combination skin!!! I never write review, but I absolutely must for this! I have dry skin around my t-zone (mostly the corners of my nose and middle of my brow) and it is Perfect for extra hydration!!! The thing I love about this product over other moisturizers is that is it cool in sensation and it doesn’t have an oily after feel. I use this in the morning before I put makeup on and it allows my foundation and powder to go own cake and flake free!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm not sure I understand this product I bought this with some others from this line in hopes of discovering the perfect sweat-proof face. I live in Haiti, so I certainly am in a position to test the claims. But the problem is I don't know what the claims are for this stuff. First of all, I got a faulty one. when I tried to twist up, the whole green sleeve popped up and I had to force the product back down. It won't go down on its own, and since the cap is exactly the same height as the sleeve, it won't close when the product isn't pushed back down. Super annoying. When I used it, I didn't get any of the cooling others are talking about. I mean, it's a gel, so it will be cooling, but there was nothing exceptional when it comes to cooling. And I also didn't get any of the smell people are describing, so I guess that's a good thing. I tried just using it as a moisturizer, and now I'm experimenting it as part of my primer regimen. I think it might work better that way, but again, there's really nothing that this does that I feel I need. It's just a stick of stuff to rub on the face that sits there, and doesn't really fully moisturize, I feel, but doesn't blur or matify either. So again, I don't get the point. But I will continue to try it from time to time and hopefully use it up at some point. If my opinion changes, I'll let you all know!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Hydration! Bad Smell! I bought this about 2 months ago and the product is pretty good. It hydrates your face and it even makes a good primer for foundation. But after about a week of having this product it started to smell really bad. Like stinky fish. But overall this is a pretty good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love It! I really like this product. I love the smell, it feels very cooling on my skin, and it didn’t clog my pores despite being solid, but then again, I was sweating. I used this as a primer with the other products in this line and it proved to be pretty effective. My skin still looks great after a few uses!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horrible scent This product is just okay. It smells kind of like axe and fish! I dont know how else to describe the scent.. lol. Although it is very cooling it smells weird and the cooling effect wears off very quickly. It is only feels cool when the actual product is still gliding across the skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Silk on a stick. I've been using this for a few days now and it's taken the place of all my other moisturizers. I'm in my mid 40's with dry skin and it does an amazing job keeping the creases in check. I keep it in the fridge for extra cooling. Doesn't pull on your skin glides on like liquid and hydrates for hours. I've only used it alone so can't say if it works as a primer. The only reason for the 3 stars is that it has the exact same ingredients as the prep stick. Seems a bit off putting to sell two separate products with different claims that are the same thing exactly...

What's the difference between this and Prep and Hydrate Balm?

Asked by: maddiegarcia
It is the same product except different packaging. This does not Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), the last ingredients on the list, but it does say it may contain traces. This makes me think it is made in the same machine just no coloring.

Yes, you can. I have been using this as a primer and I haven't broken out and my foundation looks good with it on.

Why is this so expensive? All of elf is getting up there in price now. I had this product before when it was in the black tube and I got for 3 bucks (originally 6) when they used to have good sales. Bummer.

Asked by: Jhawls
When you have better packaging and better marketing your prices rise it’s just what happens but honestly if 8 dollars is expensive for a product like this I would like to see a cheap one.
