Rated 3 out of 5 by Abby D from Great Hydration! Bad Smell! I bought this about 2 months ago and the product is pretty good. It hydrates your face and it even makes a good primer for foundation. But after about a week of having this product it started to smell really bad. Like stinky fish. But overall this is a pretty good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by McKayla97 from I Love It! I really like this product. I love the smell, it feels very cooling on my skin, and it didn’t clog my pores despite being solid, but then again, I was sweating. I used this as a primer with the other products in this line and it proved to be pretty effective. My skin still looks great after a few uses!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Akeom1 from Horrible scent This product is just okay. It smells kind of like axe and fish! I dont know how else to describe the scent.. lol. Although it is very cooling it smells weird and the cooling effect wears off very quickly. It is only feels cool when the actual product is still gliding across the skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Scareycake from Silk on a stick. I've been using this for a few days now and it's taken the place of all my other moisturizers. I'm in my mid 40's with dry skin and it does an amazing job keeping the creases in check. I keep it in the fridge for extra cooling. Doesn't pull on your skin glides on like liquid and hydrates for hours. I've only used it alone so can't say if it works as a primer. The only reason for the 3 stars is that it has the exact same ingredients as the prep stick. Seems a bit off putting to sell two separate products with different claims that are the same thing exactly...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Watermelon from Love this!!! I use this before I moisturize at night and before I put on makeup and it feels SO nice and cooling. After looking at the ingredients I expected it to be oily (since most of the ingredients are oils) but that definitely wasn't the case. This honestly could be used as a moisturizer on its own. I am a teen and this doesn't trigger any acne or anything

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matey from Smooth and cooling Im obsessed with this product. It is so soft, cooling, smooth and refreshing on the skin. I love it for my dry puffy under eye area in the morning's and at night before bed. If you're thinking about getting this, just do it, you won't regret it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sinvere from Bad first impression. Great finish.. (TLDR; Didn't like at first, but after fully absorbing, it's wonderful. I highly recommend for all skin types.) At first, I didn't think I liked this at all. It was sticky, heavy and my skin was not absorbing it. It didn't cause any burning, which I was relieved. It has a light, fresh scent and it had a "cooling" sensation that felt wonderful. I blended it into my skin and was just not happy, *at first*. BUT THEN! I thought, "maybe it just needs time to absorb". After wearing it for an hour now, I LOVE IT!! It took a good 2-4 mins for it to fully absorb. If this happens to you, I suggest just giving it a chance to absorb. I'm curious to see how well it works/holds up to exercising. I'm a brand-spanking-new e.l.f customer, who has skin issues; like eczema, sensitivity, redness and bad combo skin. I also live a vegan lifestyle and *immensely* appreciate that all of e.l.f's products are vegan. (THANK YOU for choosing compassion!!!) As late Xmas/Wedding Anniversary gifts, my husband has spent well over $300 on e.l.f products for me to try out and I can't wait to try them all!

Is this similar to the milk makeup cooling stick? does this have a cooling feeling when applied?
I haven't tried either yet, but the description for this one says it has a cooling sensation.

What's the difference between this and Prep and Hydrate Balm?
It is the same product except different packaging. This does not Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), the last ingredients on the list, but it does say it may contain traces. This makes me think it is made in the same machine just no coloring.

Is this supposed to be used as a primer for foundation?
Yes, you can. I have been using this as a primer and I haven't broken out and my foundation looks good with it on.

When will this item be back in stock?

Why is this so expensive? All of elf is getting up there in price now. I had this product before when it was in the black tube and I got for 3 bucks (originally 6) when they used to have good sales. Bummer.
When you have better packaging and better marketing your prices rise it’s just what happens but honestly if 8 dollars is expensive for a product like this I would like to see a cheap one.
