Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Drugstore Foundation I’ve been using this for a while and as a makeup enthusiast I’m constantly trying new things this foundation is the best I’ve tried and for $6?? It’s honestly a steal. I’m only giving it four stars because there needs to be more colors for POC there’s like 10 shaded of white and like 2 for dark gals

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft cream, flawless all day wear!!! I just purchased this foundation (sand) a few days ago and have been wearing it every day since!! I have fussy, sensitive skin** and no breakouts or irritation of any kind - it actually makes my skin feel better. One thing - it takes about 30 minutes (on me) to look like it's done settling into color and finish. It feels so soft, more like a cream foundation in a jar. It smells clean and light. Application is easy and has buildable coverage if needed for blemishes/spots/whatever :). I have been using EL DoubleWear for years and switched immediately. After my skincare routine - I pair this with the elf HD loose powder and makeup mist & set spray - GORGEOUS*** finish. I feel like it is helping my skin texture as well - Excellent product - insane value!! LOVE IT!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I’m highly disappointed. After reading all the great reviews about this product I decided to try it out. This foundation blends in well and the color was perfect. However, the smell is awful. I can’t even describe horrible smell this product has. I will not try this on my face. I noticed the smell as soon as I pushed the pump one time to try it on my hand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for dry skin Got this foundation at wegmans about 2 weeks ago i tested it with a sponge but never with a brush but i dont think it would have made a difference in the application. This foundation has light to medium coverage and builds okay, it says it has a semi matte finish but it looks matte to me. Dry skin should use a super radiant primer to combat the cakey-ness of this foundation . Oily skin would probably like this because it mattifies the skin, combo im iffy about. Overall a good foundation just not good for dry skin unless with a glowy primer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kinda new to foundation... I've been wearing this for a couple of weeks now. I use it over the Beauty Shield primer. I haven't really used a lot of foundation in my life, mostly because when your mothers don't wear make up, there is no one to teach you. (YAY youtube tutorials!) I would feel confident giving a review if this were a blush or eye-shadow, but with foundation all I can give are my impressions. So this is maybe the 4th foundation I've ever tried, I've always used tinted sunscreens or BB creams etc. which are VERY forgiving if your technique sucks dish water. It does a good job evening out my redness and freckles, with out looking like I'm painted, but I feel like it can be a pain to blend out really smooth, and it can get cakey if you aren't careful. As far as wear I have no complaints, it stays on all day, and I haven't noticed it rubbing off on my clothes or my husbands. The only place I really notice rub off or need to touch up is my nose, and that is more a result of year round allergies. I think what I like about this one over others I have tried is that it doesn't feel greasy or oily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my problem skin! I have many skintone issues- redness, hyperpigmintation and vitiligo. I also have very dry, thin skin. And acne scarring. These are all from hormonal and immune system issues. I have fair skin with yellow undertones, and I chose 'Nude'. I've tried so many foundations, and this is the first one that's worked for all of my skin issues. My skin looks hydrated, it perfectly covers the vitiligo and gives good coverage over the acne scarring and redness. It's very hard to get a foundation with full coverage that doesn't dry out my skin. Plus it's cruelty free/ vegan which is super important. It's also excellent value. Thank you E.L.F!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I bought this a few days ago and wow! It’s amazing. I love the texture, coverage everything. Except, the shade light ivory is still a little to dark for my skin. Now, I’m not a vampire shade. I think my skin is a little lighter that the average white woman and the lightest shade is STILL a teeny bit dark for me. I know It’s nothing compared to the problem that people with dark skin face but ya know. Anyway the foundation is great.

how can I know what color is good for my skin tone? I have reddish hair and medium skin color. Most foundations I by from ELF are too light when I choose a darker one it was way too dark and did not look good.

You should always try the shades on your neckline and whatever color diffuses with your skin tone that is your correct color.

I am a light to medium with yellow undertone. Which shade should I use?

Asked by: Tareasa
I am Asian with light to medium and yellow undertones too. Nude matches decently. It has the yellow (vs. pink) undertones that blend with my skin tone well, however it's just a tad too light for me. I will try a different shade on my next order.

Is this fragrance free?

Asked by: holtie785
The foundation does contain added fragrance to it. The word fragrance is listed last though, so only a very slight amount is actually added to this product. It is listed on the ingredient listing on the current packaging for this product. The ingredient listing on E.LF.'s website does not contain the up-to-date ingredient listing for this foundation, at this time. Hopefully, they will take care of such real soon.

I'm still learning how to use makeup (age 31!), do I apply one layer of foundation or a couple of thin layers? Should I set each layer with powder before doing the next? I can't cover up the small patches of dark skin I have between my eye and cheekbone

Asked by: LaurenP85
You should color correct (look it up on youtube!), then apply foundation. Put dots of foundation all over your face and then blend it out either with a makeup sponge (real techniques orange blender sponge works great or a beauty blender), or you can use a foundation brush and buff it out. Then apply concealer (lool at youtube for how!!) And set with powder. Then makeup setting spray of you'd like. This is how you get full coverage :) I suggest watching tutorials bc they're how I learned and my makeup skills have definitely improved!

Asked by: Pam V
I bought caramel and it’s not the same shade as the Almond I use to use. It’s lighter.
