Rated 5 out of 5 by kamapes from I bought this setting powder in the sheer/golden and it’s the perfect match for my medium-tan skin tone. It’s lightweight, but covers well

Rated 5 out of 5 by Raynie from Love this powder. I’ve been using Laura mercier but cried every time I bought it because of the price... so I tried this out and my life has been changed forever. It works the same if not better than high end powders!! I gave cotty air spun a try but I just could not get over the ugly packaging and the smell almost made me vomit. This powder has BEAUTIFUL packaging, no repulsive smell and NO flashback. I use powder for baking because I’m super oily, and this is a powder like no other. Love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mjl25 from Finally neutral/warm undertone powder Thank you elf!!!! I have searched forever for a light skin tone transulent setting powder leaning slightly warm tone. Almost all drugstore skin tone transulent powders are cool undertone. Nyx has one but it's far too dark for my skin stone I had to mix in my rcma. I use my damp blending sponge to apply it flawlessly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by YummieB from Excellent Matte Quality I used the Beauty Shield setting powder while on vacation and it kept my oily skin from becoming to shiny in the island heat. If it worked there I knew it would last in the NYC summer heat. I would give it 5 stars but the colors are a little light for me, so I can't use to much or it changes my entire look, as if my foundation and makeup doesn't match my skin. If it came in a darker hue it would be perfection. .

Rated 3 out of 5 by jaybird16 from was sorta disappointed This product is okay. It smells great, has like a sweet sorta taste ( fallout sometimes gets breathed in ) and is awesome for baking or just setting the face. HOWEVER. I discovered after a few weeks of using most of it that it drew ants. Sugar ants specifically. I'm not sure exactly what's in it but I'm assuming there's some sugar in there. I dunno. Sorta overpriced as it doesn't preform better than a $5 setting powder from Walmart that doesn't draw ants. ELF has been jacking the prices up lately. Makes me sad.

Does it have flashback?
Yes. The severity of it depends on how much you use and how long you leave it on your face. I wouldn't recommend baking with it if you're going out at night and planning to take pictures with flash.

Is the sheer/natural shade too dark for very fair skin (NC10)?
I'm usually the lightest shade in every foundation I've gotten and the sheer/natural works well for me. It's not white, but kind of a light yellow that seems to match my skin really well. I really like it, since white powders make me look too grey

does this powder have sparkle in it? I know the other setting powder in the pinky shade does
This does not have sparkles in it.Its more of a matte finish and is good to keep your foundation in place and its good to cover oily skin

Why is e.l.f. still using talc?
They use talc because it's effective and totally safe for use. Many high end powders use talc. I know it's an ingredient that everyone suddenly thinks is dangerous, but there isn't sufficient science to back that up. There is ample evidence to prove its safety. Signed, someone with a BS in chemistry.

Does ELF make any powder without talc. I am so allergic to talc, but I really wanted to try this :(
They only one that doesn't have talc (unless they made a typo) is the High Definition Undereye Setting Powder IN SHEER. You can check rhe ingredients and contact elf to make sure it was not a just a typo but I'm sure it should be fine.

Does this powder have sunscreen?
It doesn't look like it does. I would recommend finding some kind of spray-over-your-makeup kind of suncreen. I've seen them before, maybe check Ulta.

Which shade is best for someone of African heritage with dark skin?
I would imagine the golden shade, especially because of the yellow undertone (less likely to show up ashy on you). Depending on how dark you are, you may want to go in with a light hand, since the shade range is so tiny thus far. Hope it works okay for you!
