Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer

Additional Information

Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 303.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Eyelid Primer, Great Price! This eyelid primer is the product I have been needing for years. I have combination skin and my eyelids tend to get oily, which makes my eye shadows crease... Grrrr! Over the years, I have tried using my foundations, concealers, and powders (in different combinations) in futile attempts to prevent my eye shadows from creasing from my oily eyelids. Nothing I tried would work for more than a couple hours of wear, which is frustrating. This eyelid primer worked like a charm from first use. No need for any type of special layering with other products. My eye shadows now stay put without creasing from the time I put it on in the morning until I'm ready to take it off at bedtime. The other reason I love this product is that it helps my eye shadow colors stay true to palette. And you cannot beat the price for such a product. The only reason I rated the quality at four stars is that I wish it had a different applicator. It goes on kind of thick, so I have to work at smoothing it out while trying to not waste it. But that's not really an issue once you know what you're dealing with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Realy good! I bought the sheer color a couple months back and I think it works really well for the price! I'm an oily person and my eyelids usually add up quite a bit of oil throughout the day but with this primer, my eyeshadow and liner usually stays put! Works way better than my concealer. My only problem is that I feel like there isn't a lot in the tube so if you are someone that wears eye makeup often, you may find yourself buying more often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality + Price = Perfect I purchased this product on a whim as eye primer has not been a part of my makeup routine. I love it. The sheer color is perfect for me and my skin tone (generally medium beige). I suggest applying one eye at a time b/c this product sets fairly quickly. You get less than a minute to rub it in but then it is set. Another thing - though I often have sensitive skin, this product has not affected my eyes whatsoever. No redness, drying or flaking on my lid. And finally, my eye makeup stays put. It even keeps my eye pencil liner in place. I've made it a point to look in the mirror and check out my eye makeup at the end of each day since using. It's all in place. I'm pleased!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Good primer for eyes. My shadows look awesome with it. It dries super fast and can get patchy near the lashline

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shadow Lock eyelid primer I bought this at my local Walmart and it was alright. It worked, but I barley got any product. The bottle was pretty much empty & it was in sealed packaging. I don’t know it If was because sold at Walmart or because of this brand in general but I wouldn’t recommend. Waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST. Used to use Ultima II Fade Not Crease Not and have been searching for one as good since they stopped making it. This is the closest I have come and better yet it is much less expensive. Will keep using it until they stop making it.

what is the purpose of the difference in the colors?

I'm assuming the different shades are meant for different skin tones. Sheer, tan, and cocoa are probably for light, medium, and darker skin tones and meant to be used as a primer base that would match the skin, probably good for lighter more natural eyeshadows and the pearl which is white would help to make other more unnatural colors pop but pearl could also be used for all colors of course. But some people may want to use a primer that matches their skin

Do any of the shads tint your eyelid?

Asked by: helen366
I've only used the sheer one and it won't interfere with any shadow if you give it some seconds to dry

I don't know whether i should get sheer or pearl, which one works best for pale skin?

Asked by: Freya G
I've only tried the sheer in this product. Personal I think it still had some creaseing to it. I'm also very pale but could almost use it for eye concelor. My thing is it still had a crease. Also I think all the eyeshadow faded just as fast as before almost .but I've only tried sheer .i love elf products and services and use lots of them I believe in a true review.

Is this primer goes on matte or shimmery? I read some reviews that says glittery, so I want to ask people who has used it before: does it look glittery after it is dried?

Asked by: cathy45
Not the sheer from a true elf user and a honest answer.

Does this primer hide creepiness in eyes over 60?

Asked by: Beeb
Truthful no I have used the sheer which is a light color I'm very pale and light in color and could almost use it as an eye concealer. I don't know about other colors but have read in reviews that all but sheer have some irrderference in them also I really like most of the elf products Ive tried but this also left some crease for me. After a while.

I'm confused, in description area it says to apply to fingertip, yet there's an applicator. Do u put it on your finger from applicator vs dabbing some on finger from bottle? I'd think if using applicator, the bottle would eventually get "germy" inside

Asked by: Rumeur
Apply with applicator attached to product then blend in with fingers once on eyelid.
