Poreless Face Primer- Small is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 662.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great when paired with sheer foundation This product is a pore minimizer, not a pore filler. It glides onto the surface of the skin and stops foundation from sinking into pores. This primer pairs extremely well with light or sheer coverage foundation, or BB cream. It gives the skin a pretty, natural finish. I do need to use a setting spray to keep makeup in place as this is a rather "slippery" primer. (If you prefer high coverage foundation, this primer will not be a good match). ***Please be aware that this product contains tea tree oil and definitely smells like it! Tea tree oil is great for minimizing pores, so don't think of the smell as an 'added fragrance', but as a beneficial skincare ingredient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favorite of their primers Of their primers that I've tried, it's probably my least favorite. It looks great when it first goes on, but does nothing to keep my makeup in place. I did see a lot of reviews about the smell, but it's not that serious. It smells like tea tree, which is listed in the ingredients, so it shouldn't come as a shock. It's not a terrible product, I just don't feel like it's the best they offer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great...Bad smell I've bought this because I have fairly large pores and If i'm being honest, I can't tell that it fills them in at all. I do continue to use this product though because it works really great to hold makeup on. The smell resembles a strong medicine. It's hard to smell after you finish applying it, but at first it is pretty bad. It also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I would buy this again but I REALLY wish they would add some type of fragrance to obtain the strong smell.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Watch out, this product is deceptive! I purchased this primer after reading review about its performance in comparison to the Smashbox primer. This product performed well, my face was smooth and applying foundation after the primer was a breeze. This primer has a terrible smell and the product packaging is deceptive. After a week of using this product, I could not get any more primer out of the pump bottle. I took the packaging apart, looking for some sort of broken mechanism and discovered a very small vial of product hidden within the larger bottle. What looks like a great deal is actually not compared to the price per ounce of product. I will not be purchasing this again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just okay I love Elf but this primer has a very strong smell and very greasy texture. I would suggest using their other primers over this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! This product has such an awful smell! It smells like paint remover! I couldn't use it a second time, had to throw it away. I like their other products but this one is a "no go!" Please do something about the horrible smell!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells Horrible This product has such a horrible, strong chemical smell, that I used it once and threw it away.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this a month ago because I was looking for a cheap primer. This primer really doesn't do much for blurring your pores. It has a very strong chemical sent and is not good for oily skin. It broke me out so much. Not a good primer. The only good thing about it is that it's not heavy and the sent does go away after a while.

I have combination skin, which mostly gets oily during the day, which primer do you recommend?

Asked by: laurenhodgee
I have oily skin and I use poreless as my primer and then I set my foundation with setting powder and my makeup doesn't budge all day! If I want to look a little more luminous then I use the mineral primer.

Is there an elf primer for redness? I have naturally red cheeks and I like my primer to cover that up.

Asked by: Whitney H
Their green primer helps conceal redness.

I know the smell you're talking about, although I don't think it's gasoline... more like straight up WD-40. Low grade tea tree oil smells like burned rubber and that's exactly what it smells like. I had the same thought when I first put it on, I'm scared to use it. I don't want to put something that smells like that on my face earthier. I threw mine away after the first use. I broke out afterwards also.
