They give the appearance of satin lips with a hint of sheen without the intense shininess and stickiness of lip gloss. The feeling of satin lipstick on the lips is buttery and soft to the touch. A satin lipstick is usually a more hydrating lipstick than matte lipstick.

How long does satin lipstick last?
Typically, satin lipstick does not last as long on the lips as matte lipstick. There are ways to help satin lipstick last longer, such as using a lip primer first, lining lips with a lip pencil, or blotting lips after applying lipstick. There are new formulae of satin lipsticks that provide the look and feel of satin lips but are longer lasting such as O FACE Lipstick.

What is the difference between satin and matte lipstick?
