Beauty Shield Vitamin C Pollution Prevention Serum is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 72.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising Shock I found this item on clearance and being a diabetic and having dealt with Stephen Johnston Syndrome for quiet some time, I use a lot of Vitamin C enriched products to repair and maintain my skin. I decided why not give it a try. I am so happy I did. I am a die hard Sunday Riley advocate BUT I found that this held it's own against my Sunday Riley. This is the newest addition to my healthy skin rountine and will continue to be. E.L.F. has proven it's self to me over and over in my battle to control my skin issues due to my illnesses and just general skin care issues. It's a cost efficient affordable product that truly makes a difference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight I’ve used this a few times and it’s less serum-y than you would expect. It’s pretty hydrating and i use it after washing my face and before moisturizer. Not oily at all! Just not sure exactly what it does in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My skin loves this I bought this during the 60% off sale, and when I tried it, my skin soaked EVERY BIT of it up! It feels so NICE!! Makes my face so supple. I have combination skin, and I like that I can layer this with moisturizer and it won’t feel too heavy. This will definitely be a repurchase

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Haven't noticed a difference in my skin I've been using this product regularly since I purchased it a month or two ago. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin from using it. I can tell you that I am already running out of it and it didn't last very long. The only products I like in this beauty shield line is the night cream otherwise the other products I found haven't been that great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alright but caused irritation It made the skin on my face feel really good but after a few days of using it its making the skin on my neck very itchy and irritated I honestly wanna say it was the "fragrance" that's in it. I want my money back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I’m in love with this serum, but it does not last a long time. If it came in a bigger size it would be perfect

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay but.... I bought this thinking it would replace my $45 serum, however it did not. After a week of using, my skin was breaking out more than usual. I stopped using it for about a month and my skin cleared up, so I tried it out one last time, and my skin broke out again. Very disappointed

I know water isnt very good with vitamin c... but will that affect anything if my moisturizer and toner are all water based?

Asked by: The808
Vitamin C is water soluble. There is no problem with water based products.

Is the best used before or after moisturizer?  I’m unsure of which part of my skin care regimen would be best to use this in

Asked by: Mesha
It would go: cleansing & toning, face serum and then sunscreen (in the morning)/moisturizer. Most serums say to use twice daily, but just see how your skin reacts! Like if it makes you more oily, put it on before bed (followed by a moisturizer). I have combo/dry skin so I like using it both AM & PM.

How are they keeping the ascorbic acid stable in this format? Ascorbic acid oxidized very rapidly.  While it's the best of the Vit c's, if it oxidizes it becomes the opposite of an antioxidant and creates free radicals on your skin causing wrinkles

Asked by: SammLiane
Agreed, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is much more stable than l-ascorbic acid. You will be able to tell when the product goes bad, as it will start to turn yellow.

How well would this work for under the eyes? Looking for vitamin C serum for under the eyes & love ELF!

Asked by: CurlyT
We do not recommend application directly under the eye area due to the potency of vitamin c.

Does this help fade dark spots/Sun spots on the facs from sun damage?

Asked by: Chriss32
No, I don't think it is concentrated enough for that. It might help a little, but it is not really a skincare product, more a moisturizer with extras.
